About Severe Aortic Stenosis
Aortic Stenosis is a condition in which the aortic valve narrows, thereby limiting blood flow from the aorta to the rest of the body.
Severe aortic stenosis prevents your aortic valve leaflets from opening and closing properly. This makes your heart work harder to pump blood to the rest of your body. A diseased valve affects your health and limits your daily activities.

About the Perceval Valve
The Perceval Valve is a tissue heart valve with a sutureless and collapsible stent. The stent’s collapsible design allows for smaller incisions and eases its deployment and implantation.
The Perceval valve is different from stented and stentless valves that require 20 to 30 sutures, because it can be implanted without any suturing.
The Perceval Procedure
This procedure is performed without opening the sternum through a small incision on the chest. During the Perceval procedure, the diseased aortic valve leaflets and calcified portions of the valve opening are completely removed, reducing the risk of leaks and resulting strokes that are sometimes seen in TAVR procedures.

After Surgery
After surgery you will spend a few days in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, where you will be closely monitored by our medical staff. When this intensive monitoring is no longer needed, you will be moved to the Post Cardiac Care Unit for a few more days. Most patients are often surprised at how soon their conditions improve and how quickly they can come back to normal daily activities such as walking, eating, and bathing.
