Award-Winning Emergency Care for Heart Attack and Stroke

Singing River Gulfport has been awarded by American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® for our commitment to providing rapid, research-based care to people experiencing two different types of heart attacks, STEMI and NSTEMI, as well strokes. In addition, we have received recognition for ensuring that patients with Type 2 diabetes, who may be at higher risk of complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to heart attack or stroke.

STEMI and NSTEMI Heart Attack Care

Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Center –
SILVER PLUS with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

An ST elevation myocardial infarction, or STEMI, is known to be more severe and dangerous than other types of heart attacks. Recognition as a STEMI Receiving Center showcases Singing River Gulfport’s 24/7 support for providing evidence-based STEMI treatment and care coordination, ensuring the best outcomes for these patients.

Coronary Artery Disease NSTEMI –
SILVER with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

A non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, or NSTEMI, is caused by a partial blockage of blood flow to the heart. In the event of an NSTEMI heart attack, Singing River Gulfport’s adherence to AHA guidelines is critical in providing our patients evidence-based care and the best chance of preventing another heart attack.

Emergency Stroke Care

Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

Stroke is the number five cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S. Consistent adherence to stroke guidelines leads to more lives saved, faster recovery, and reduced disability so that the patients of Harrison county can experience longer, healthier lives.
