Awards for Singing River Gulfport

Heart Attack & Stroke Care

Singing River Gulfport has received a American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

Stroke is the number five cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S. Consistent adherence to stroke guidelines leads to more lives saved, faster recovery, and reduced disability so that the patients of Harrison County can experience longer, healthier lives.

Singing River Gulfport also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award. This award aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who may be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.

Singing River Gulfport has been recognized by the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Coronary Artery Disease registry for its commitment to offering rapid, research-based care to people experiencing two different types of heart attacks—STEMI and NSTEMI.

Our TARGET: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards recognize our ability to ensure that patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk of complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to heart attack.

An ST elevation myocardial infarction, or STEMI, is known to be more severe and dangerous than other types of heart attacks. Recognition as a STEMI Receiving Center showcases Singing River Gulfport’s 24/7 support for providing evidence-based STEMI treatment and care coordination, ensuring the best outcomes for these patients.

Singing River Gulfport has been recognized by the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Coronary Artery Disease registry for its commitment to offering rapid, research-based care to people experiencing two different types of heart attacks—STEMI and NSTEMI.

A non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, or NSTEMI, is caused by a partial blockage of blood flow to the heart. In the event of an NSTEMI heart attack, Singing River Gulfport’s adherence to AHA guidelines is critical in providing our patients evidence-based care and the best chance of preventing another heart attack.

Singing River Gulfport has received the Platinum American College of Cardiology‘s NCDR Chest Pain — MI Registry Performance Achievement Award for 2024. The award recognizes sustained achievement and performance at the highest level for specific performance measures that drive improvement and ensure adherence to guideline recommendations in heart attack care.
