Visiting Hours

While visiting a loved one is an integral part in a patient’s recovery process, it’s important for a patient to have time to rest. We encourage friends and family to visit their loved ones during the timeframes specified below.

Hospital Visiting Hours

In preparation for your visit to the hospital, please be mindful of the visiting hours at each hospital: 8am – 8:30pm. During your visit to one of our hospitals, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • All visitors are asked to help maintain a restful and healing environment
  • Anyone with a cold, sore throat, or any communicable condition should not visit the hospital
  • Children may visit at the nurse’s discretion and must be supervised by an adult at all times
  • Due to the nature of the illness, the patient’s physical or emotional condition, or the patient’s preference, some visits may be restricted or extended

Intensive Care Unit Visiting Hours

While visitors are welcome in our Intensive Care Units, special guidelines are in place to assure a restful and healing environment for our critically ill patients:

  • Only two visitors may visit a patient at a time
  • Children under the age of 12 are not encouraged to visit the ICU

Behavioral and Psychiatric Care Units

Visiting Hours

The Adult Behavioral Care Unit and the Medical Psychiatric Care Unit at Singing River Hospital have limited visiting hours due to scheduled therapy and activities.

  • Only two visitors are allowed at a time.
  • Visiting is allowed in day room only unless other arrangements are approved by physician.
  • If you’re visiting the Adult Behavioral Care Unit, you must be 18 or older.
  • If you’re visiting the Medical Psychiatric Care Unit, you must be 12 or older.
  • Other restrictions may be made as part of therapy.

Adult Behavioral Care Unit

Tuesday and Thursday: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Medical Psychiatric Care Unit

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Other Restrictions for the Behavioral and Psychiatric Care Units

Cell phones, cameras, purses, wallets, cigarettes and lighters are not allowed on the unit. Staff is not allowed to keep or store these items for you. No food from outside the hospital is allowed. All visitors will be scanned with a metal detector prior to entering the unit. Please do not bring guns or other weapons to the hospital. Plastic and any type of sharp objects are not allowed on the unit. Visitors must be appropriately dressed.

Singing River Health System’s facilities are smoke-free environments and visitors are not allowed to smoke on any of our campuses. No one under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be permitted to visit. Sexual contact is prohibited.
