Specialty pharmacy refers to pharmaceutical therapies that are either high cost, high complexity and/or high touch. Specialty medications typically require an unusual or difficult process of delivery and usually require involvement of a clinical pharmacist in patient management through monitoring and disease specific therapeutic support.
