Dr. Taormina is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery, wrist, elbow, and shoulder procedures, as well as general orthopaedics. He sees patients at Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists and performs surgery at Pascagoula Hospital and Ocean Springs Hospital.

His journey to orthopaedic excellence began with a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (formerly “NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases”). He further elevated his skills through an advanced fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital, immersing himself in the art of hand and reconstructive upper extremity surgery.

He has published and presented over 60 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and book chapters, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field. His clinical interests encompass minimally invasive procedures, including arthroscopic treatments for the wrist, shoulder, and knee, along with endoscopic carpal tunnel release.

Dr. Taormina’s expertise extends to osteoarthritis of small and large joints (including arthroplasty), nerve entrapment disorders (including cubital tunnel and release), fractures, and sports injuries, involving ligament and tendon repair and reconstruction. With specialized fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Taormina excels in complex reconstructive techniques for the hand and fingers.
