Jay Smith, NP
Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner
Biography
A native of South Mississippi and a graduate of Resurrection Catholic High School in Pascagoula, Jay Smith has been a Nurse Practitioner in the field of orthopedics since 2005. Before joining Singing River Orthopedics in 2020, he worked in orthopedic private practice in Gulfport, MS. He has extensive training in orthopedics and trauma.
He is a graduate of the University of South Alabama where he worked and trained at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Mobile, AL. He completed the National Institute of First Assist (NIFA) training in 2012 and is a Certified First Assist in Surgery. For the past 20 years he has dedicated his professional career to orthopedics and caring for all types of orthopedic injuries. Jay enjoys spending time with his family which includes his wife, Lauren, and their children Miles, Mollie, and Murphy. When Jay is not caring for his patients or chauffeuring his children around, he does enjoy golfing, fishing, and carpentry.
