Hurricane Preparedness

How Singing River Health System is Prepared

Singing River has an all-hazards approach to responding to hurricanes and any emergency. Our leaders and staff participate in monthly drills and work year-round to create solid emergency response plans. At Singing River, you can have peace of mind knowing we are prepared.

We started last week with hurricane preparations in the event the storms turn toward us. All generators have fuel topped off to run the hospitals as normal operation without power blinks. We also have our materials to strengthen the temporary isolation rooms at both hospitals so we can continue to safely care for those patients while maintaining the negative airflow that our nursing staff has come to rely on.

Environmental Services (housekeeping), Pharmacy, Materials Management, and Food Services all communicated on Friday and are prepared for their 96 days of on-hand supplies so there will be no interruptions in care for our guests and staff.

We will get through all of this as a team, and hopefully, this will be a nonevent. #StaySingingRiverStrong
