Pascagoula Hospital Adds New Vision Withdrawal Management Service for Patients Battling Substance Use Dependence

Singing River Pascagoula Hospital will begin offering the New Vision Withdrawal Management Service on November 26, 2024, to help people overcome withdrawal symptoms from drug and alcohol dependence. This expansion joins the existing services offered at Singing River Gulfport Hospital, which established New Vision in 2020 and has demonstrated positive outcomes for addiction recovery.

“This service represents our ongoing commitment to providing compassionate, life-saving care for individuals battling substance use dependence. By expanding New Vision to Pascagoula, we are addressing a critical need in our community and offering hope for a fresh start.”

Jillian Strayham, Pascagoula Hospital Administrator

New Vision provides medical detoxification through a medically supervised hospital stay, usually lasting three to five days, for inpatient stabilization. During this time, patients can withdraw from a substance, whether prescribed or not, in a safe, medically supervised environment.

The service at Pascagoula Hospital will treat withdrawal from all opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, cocaine, and combined substances.

Before discharge, patients will receive individualized planning and referrals to the appropriate community-based treatment programs to help prevent relapse and support continued recovery.

The service welcomes voluntary walk-in patients for admission during regular business hours, with admission facilitated by a licensed provider. New Vision also accepts Mississippi and Alabama Medicaid and most hospital insurance plans.
