Advancing Heart & Vascular Care on the Coast with Tour Stop in Pascagoula

Singing River Health System is partnering with the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce to bring the Heart & Vascular Care Tour to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The event is part of the NBCA Mississippi Blood Clot Awareness Tour and focuses on education, early detection, and access to care.

The Heart & Vascular Care Tour will take place on Friday, May 22 at the Singing River Cardiology Center in Pascagoula. The morning will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a community health fair including free screenings and vendors representing the full spectrum of heart and vascular care. The event will also include an educational session on lymphedema, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating expanded cardiovascular services and the addition of new providers.

Led by NBCA, the Mississippi Blood Clot Awareness Tour is a mobile initiative that delivers education and prevention resources to communities across the state. By meeting people where they are, the tour helps reduce delays in diagnosis and connects residents with trusted, local care.

“As a vascular medicine provider, I see firsthand how critical early recognition is when it comes to blood clots. This is an opportunity to give our community the knowledge to recognize the signs, ask questions, and seek care sooner.”

Blood clots can affect anyone, often without warning. While certain medical conditions and lifestyle factors can increase your risk, understanding those risks and recognizing symptoms early can make all the difference.

Community members are encouraged to attend, connect with local providers, and take a proactive step toward better heart and vascular health.
