Singing River Partners with Gulfport Organizations to Host Community Blood Drives
Singing River Health System and The Blood Center are partnering with the City of Gulfport, Gulfport Main Street, Rotary Club of Gulfport, and Kiwanis Club of Gulfport to support the ongoing blood shortage by hosting blood drives on June 3 and 4 for the Gulfport community.
Every donation with The Blood Center stays local and helps ensure patients in our community have access to the care they need when it matters most. Whether you’re a first-time donor or a regular, your time truly makes a difference.
“We are incredibly excited and proud to partner with Singing River Health System for this year’s Gulfport Community Blood Drive,” said Kristen Garriga, Director of the Gulfport Main Street Association. “Their commitment to caring for our community perfectly reflects the spirit of Gulfport, and together we hope to make a meaningful impact by helping save lives through local blood donations.”
Donations remain local, helping ensure Singing River patients and others across the region have access to the blood products they need for surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatment, and other critical medical care.
“Being in healthcare, I see firsthand how critical it is to keep our blood supplies up,” said John O’Keefe, President of the Rotary Club of Gulfport. “I’ve donated many times over the years, and I will gladly give at this wonderful event. Please consider taking 30 minutes to donate and possibly save a life!”
“This blood drive is a great example of what can happen when local organizations come together with a shared purpose,” said Heather Rowley, Hospital Administrator for Singing River Gulfport. “We are grateful to partner with community leaders and volunteers who continue to step up in support of our neighbors across the Gulf Coast. Events like this reflect the compassion and generosity that make our community so strong.”
Reserve Your SpotWalk-ins are welcome, though appointments will be honored first. Donors should eat a meal beforehand and must bring a valid driver’s license or other form of identification to donate.
