Singing River’s Hospice of Light to Host Third Annual Butterfly Memorial Service
Singing River Health System’s Hospice of Light invites the community to join its third annual Butterfly Memorial Service, a touching tradition designed to honor and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. The event provides families and friends with an opportunity to gather, reflect, and find comfort in shared remembrance.
The ceremony features a reading of names, music, spiritual reflections, and the symbolic release of butterflies, each representing a unique story and enduring love. Participants are encouraged to bring a framed photo of their loved one to display during the event.
Event Dates and Locations:
- Wednesday, May 27 | 10:00 a.m. – Lucedale City Park, Mill Street & Oak Street, Lucedale

“Losing someone we love is one of life’s most profound experiences,” said Heather LeBlanc, Clinical Marketing Liaison for Singing River Hospice of Light. “Our Butterfly Memorial Service offers a time for families to come together, share stories, and find support in one another, knowing that their loved ones are remembered with honor and care.”
The event is open to the community and welcomes everyone seeking a peaceful, reflective space. By releasing a butterfly, participants celebrate the spirit of their loved one while embracing the ongoing cycle of life, hope, and connection.

In addition to the butterfly release, Singing River Hospice of Light provides ongoing support through its community grief support group, offering a safe space for conversation, healing, and encouragement. Those interested in joining can visit Facebook.com/Groups/SingingRiverHOL.
