Rachel Kemp, Chief Nursing Officer, Singing River Health System

Singing River Health System is proud to announce Rachel Kemp as its new Chief Nursing Officer. Kemp brings nearly two decades of nursing experience and a proven track record of executive leadership to the organization.

With 19 years in nursing and 16 years in progressive leadership roles, including eight at the executive level, Kemp has managed complex healthcare operations across specialties such as Level 1 trauma, NICU, oncology, transplant, perioperative care, and inpatient rehabilitation.

Most recently, Kemp served as Vice President of Patient Care Services at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tenn., where she oversaw daily operations for a 250-bed Level 1 trauma and burn center. Under her leadership, the organization achieved a 20% reduction in harm events and maintained a nurse turnover rate of just 4% year over year. Her success in Memphis highlights her ability to lead complex operations and has earned her recognition for transformational leadership and a data-driven approach to quality improvement.

“Rachel’s leadership record demonstrates her ability to deliver measurable results and inspire teams,” said Laurin St. Pe, CEO of Singing River Health System. “We are confident she will help elevate the nursing team and continue driving excellence across our health system.”

In accepting the role, Kemp shared, “I am honored to step into the role of Chief Nursing Officer at Singing River. I look forward to supporting our incredible nursing team, building on the system’s strong foundation of care, and helping shape the future of healthcare for this community.”

Kemp holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science in Nursing and Health Administration (MHA) from the University of Phoenix. She is also actively engaged in professional nursing associations and leadership networks that advance best practices in healthcare.

She and her family have recently relocated to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she looks forward to becoming an active member of the community while advancing the system’s mission of improving health and saving lives.
