Singing River Health System’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center Earns National Accreditation
The Singing River Health System Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center (CRC) is pleased to receive another three year accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an international, independent, not-for-profit accrediting body promoting quality, value and optimal outcomes through a consultative accreditation process. The accreditation applies to the Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs and Stroke Specialty Programs for adults. This is the fourth consecutive three-year accreditation from CARF for the CRC since first being surveyed in 2007. It represents the highest level of accreditation awarded by CARF.
“This achievement is an indication of CRC and Singing River Health System’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of lives of the people we serve,” said Stella Mason, Interim Director, Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center.
Over 2000 standards were reviewed by the surveyors to ascertain CRC’s conformance to these standards. CARF noted a number of strengths of the organization including the yield sign ‘for your safety – call don’t fall’, interdisciplinary team work, the Medical Director (Dr. Thomas Stevens), educational material, staff engagement in the performance improvement process, finance department, Human Resources department, CRC strategic plan and transportation services offered by Singing River Health System.
