Singing River Health System Welcomes Hometown Couple, New Providers to Medical Staff
Singing River Health System is pleased to welcome three new providers to its medical staff, including a married couple who are returning home to family and community roots.
Dr. John Banahan, a Radiologist, and his wife Dr. Taylor Banahan, an OB/GYN physician, have joined private medical practices in Pascagoula. “Johnny” Banahan, a Pascagoula native and graduate of PHS, received his medical degree at the University of MS Medical Center and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology as well as a Musculoskeletal Fellowship at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. “I grew up in Pascagoula, so I know what a great place the MS gulf coast is to live and work. The people are what makes this area special, and I feel really privileged to have the opportunity to take care of family, friends, and neighbors.” Dr. Banahan will practice with the Singing River Radiology Group practice.
Dr. Taylor Banahan joins her husband to practice in Jackson County, joining the team at Gulf Coast OB/GYN in Pascagoula. Dr. Banahan earned her medical degree at UMMC and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecolgy residency at UAB Birmingham. While not a Jackson County native, she shares her husband’s love for the coast. “I’ve been visiting family on the MS gulf coast for nearly a decade. In that time, I’ve learned that this community is like a family. I’m excited to be a part of that, and I look forward to caring for fellow women in my community.”
Also joining the medical staff and Singing River Radiology Group is Dr. Marshall Walker, a graduate of Tulane University Medical School. Dr. Walker completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of South Alabama, followed by an Interventional Radiology Fellowship at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
