Head of the Class! Pascagoula and Ocean Springs Hospitals Nationally Recognized with ‘A’s from The Leapfrog Group
GULF COAST, MISSISSIPPI (May 1, 2020) – Singing River Health System Pascagoula and Ocean Springs Hospitals were both awarded an ‘A’in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Singing River Health System’s achievements providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to all general hospitals across the country and updated every six months, assessing how well the hospital prevents medical errors and other harms to patients.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade utilizes 28 national performance measures of patient safety that are collected and publicly reported by The Leapfrog Group and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to produce a single composite score that represents a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
“This recognition and ranking are again the collective culmination of hard work from our entire team and we have come a long way thanks to your dedication, grit, and commitment. Words cannot describe my appreciation for the hard work of our team, but a letter can, and that letter is an “A”! These awards speak to the heart and soul of our mission to Improve Health and Save Lives Every Day. On behalf of everyone we serve, THANK YOU and keep up the good work!”
Lee Bond, Chief Executive Officer
