Biography
Brian E. Persing, MD, is a board-certified Hematologist/Oncologist with a focus on lung cancer. He has spent a significant part of his career at Singing River Cancer Center, where he has been a trusted provider for many patients. His expertise also includes improving patient care experiences at the University of South Alabama (USA) Mitchell Cancer Institute, where he served as Chair of the Division of Hematology and Oncology.
Dr. Persing earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
He is actively involved in cancer advocacy, working with state and federal leaders to address barriers to care and expand access to clinical trials. A past president of the Mississippi Oncology Society, Dr. Persing remains engaged as a proponent for improving oncology care in the state.
