Stephanie Edmondson, APRN, FNP-C
Hereditary Cancer Specialist
Biography
Stephanie Edmondson, APRN, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in hereditary cancer risk assessment, genetic counseling, and high-risk cancer surveillance at Singing River Cancer Center.
Stephanie helps patients learn whether certain types of cancer may run in their family. She works with patients to understand their personal and family history, decide whether genetic testing is right for them, and create a personalized plan for cancer screening, risk reduction and prevention based on national guidelines.
A normal genetic test doesn’t always mean your cancer risk is average. Stephanie also helps patients whose personal or family history suggests they may need extra screenings or closer follow-up.
Before joining Singing River, Stephanie cared for patients with complex medical needs in adult and pediatric transplant medicine, bariatric surgery, rheumatology, and cardiology. Her experience caring for transplant patients, many of whom had inherited medical conditions, helped shape her passion for personalized care and genetic risk assessment.
Stephanie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and completed advanced training through the City of Hope Genetic Counseling and Risk Assessment (GCRA) program.
