Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when there is compression of the median nerve which runs through the carpal tunnel. This is a small tunnel made of bones and ligaments at the base of the hand. Typically one has numbness and tingling in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and part of the ring finger.

Trigger Finger

Trigger Finger is one of the most common causes of hand pain and disability. It is a condition that causes pain, stiffness, and a sensation of locking or catching when a finger is flexed and extended. It most commonly affects the ring finger and the thumb but can also occur in other fingers.

When you make a fist with you hand, one or more fingers gets stuck, locks, or catches in that positions while the other fingers can be extended on their own.

Tenderness in the palm of your hand when your fingers bend.

Pain and discomfort in your hand while making a clenched fist.

Records can be requested and picked up from Ocean Springs Hospital or Pascagoula Hospital for any hospital or Singing River owned Medical Clinic. For Gulfport Hospital records, you must contact the Gulfport Office.

Finding Transportation

Do you need a ride to your medical appointment?

Singing River's Patient Transportation Services provides free transportation for the citizens of Jackson County from their residences to medical and hospital appointments and back home. The buses operate Monday through Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM.
