Singing River’s Spiritual Care Department provides religious, spiritual, and emotional support services to patients, their families, and healthcare staff regardless of religious affiliation.

Compassionate Care for the Whole Person

We offer assistance with the following spiritual care services:

Religious Support

  • Request prayer, communion, anointing, or other rituals.
  • Talk to someone if you’re experiencing spiritual distress or questioning your faith, meaning, or purpose.

Emotional & Family Support

  • During crises like new diagnoses, ICU admissions, or trauma
  • For comfort and guidance in end-of-life care or hospice transitions
  • When families are struggling with grief, decision-making, or coping
  • To facilitate communication between families and the healthcare team

Cultural/Religious Accommodation

  • Assistance with religious practices or cultural needs

Find a Chapel Location

  • Ocean Springs Hospital: From the main lobby, take a right after the administrative desk. Walk past the restrooms, and the chapel is located on the left.
  • Pascagoula Hospital: Descend to the ground floor. The chapel is located down the main hallway across from the MICU.
  • Singing River Gulfport: From the main entrance’s lobby, take a left through the waiting area. The chapel is located on the left.

Tim Morgan, Chaplain Manager

Tim Morgan is the Chaplain Manager for Singing River, leading the Spiritual Care Department across all Singing River Hospital locations in Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport. Tim, along with his team of volunteer chaplains, provides spiritual care to our patients, families, and staff. 

Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts from William Carey University and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His chaplaincy training includes a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) internship and residency completed at Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, Florida. He has also served as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserves and as a theology teacher at Cottage Hill Christian Academy. Currently, he is pursuing Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains, of which he is a member.

Prior to his work in chaplaincy, Tim pastored three churches: Spring Cottage Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi; Good Hope Baptist Church in Batesville, Mississippi; and Kushla Bethany Baptist Church in Eight Mile, Alabama.
