After-Hours Care
There will be times when you have questions about your child when our office is closed. For those urgent concerns that cannot wait until the clinic opens, we offer an after-hours nurse triage service.
After-Hours Care for Patients of Singing River Pediatrics
This service (staffed by the trained pediatric nurses of Triage4Pediatrics) provides after-hours telephone assessment and advice to established patients of a Singing River Pediatric clinic. Whether your child has a fever, a cough, or another health problem, an after-hours nurse can help you determine the correct care for your child.
How to Call the After-Hours Service
To access the after-hours service, call the phone number to your child’s Singing River Pediatric clinic; and press 1, when prompted.
When to Call the After-Hours Service
Consider calling the after-hours service for the following types of issues:
- Fever
- Rashes
- Ear Pain
- Colds/Cough
- Diarrhea
- Fussy/Crying Baby
- Stomach Pain
- Constipation
- Asthma
- Poisonings or Ingestions – If you suspect that your child has ingested something dangerous (unintended medication, a dose of medication that is too high, a poison, etc.) please call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.
When NOT to Call the After-Hours Service
Please do not call the after-hours service for the following:
- Emergency situations (dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room)
- Routine appointments
- Routine medication refills (except for rescue breathing medication)
- Referrals to sub specialists
