Announcing the new Executive Director for Singing River Health System Foundation

Singing River Health System Foundation has selected Laura Sessum as the new Executive Director.

Laura first joined Singing River Health System as a nurse in 2005, where she touched patients’ lives in the ER and MICU.

In 2009, Laura changed roles and began addressing the health needs in Jackson County by collaborating with local community leaders through her role as coordinator and manager for Singing River Health System’s Community Benefit department.

Laura played a key role in Singing River Health System’s partnership with Let’s Go! Gulf Coast as an inaugural board member. Through her leadership, Singing River Health System is now a designated work-site model for Let’s Go! Gulf Coast with the implementation of healthier work-site policies, including the one mile walking paths.

In 2015, Laura was recognized as one of the Top 10 Business Leaders Under 40 by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.

Laura earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama.
