Outpatient Pediatric Care
Our pediatricians and nurse practitioners deliver the best comprehensive, evidence-based care and treatments to your child. In our outpatient clinics, we get to know our patients and their families during wellness visits, and we’re here with same-day appointment availability when illnesses and injuries arise.

Inpatient Pediatric Care
Singing River also provides a seamless continuum of care for your children, through our Pediatric Inpatient Services program. Our inpatient pediatric specialists round on newborns at all three Singing River Hospitals and see your child when they are hospitalized for serious injury or illness. Singing River’s hospital-based pediatric providers give the very best inpatient care for children on the coast.
Pediatric Wound Care
Pediatric wound care is provided through Singing River Wound Care Center:
- Abscesses: red, swollen, infected bumps on the skin that are filled with pus.
- Burns: minor first- and second-degree skin wounds from heat, chemical or electrical burns.
- Gastrostomy tube site problems: when skin breaks down around a gastrostomy tube, which is placed through the skin of the abdomen directly into the stomach to feed kids who can’t get enough nutrition by mouth.
- Pilonidal cysts: abnormal sacs of embedded hair and skin debris, usually located near the tailbone, above the crease of the buttocks.
- Pressure sores: open skin wounds from long periods of inactivity like sitting in a wheelchair or lying in a bed, or from medical devices like splints and casts that press against the skin.
- Surgical wounds: from surgical cuts.
- Trauma wounds: caused by accidents, bites, gun shots, etc.
Vaccines for Children Program
Does your child have Medicaid, or is your child Medicaid-eligible? If so, they may be eligible to receive their shots for free via the Vaccines for Children Program or other healthcare services through Mississippi’s EPSDT Program.
