Benefits of Cardiac Rehab
There are many benefits to cardiac patients who use cardiac rehabilitation services. Rehab can help you:
- Live longer
- Lessen your risk for another heart attack
- Control your heart disease symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath
- Stop or reverse damage to your heart
- Lessen the physical and emotional toll of heart disease
- Improve your stamina and strength, getting you back on your feet faster
- Better control your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar
Cardiac Rehabilitation includes medically supervised exercise programs. Patients are monitored during sessions in order to keep track of heart rate, rhythm and blood pressure.
Sessions are supervised by our trained staff of registered nurses and exercise physiologists. Our staff works with referring physicians to provide a progressive exercise program that’s right for you.
Patients also have the opportunity to receive individual dietary counseling with our registered dietician to maintain a healthy heart today and in the future.
Patients will have a pharmacist available for individual, one-on-one medication counseling.
A referral is required for cardiac rehab. If you have recently had a heart attack, stent placement, heart valve repair, coronary bypass surgery, heart transplant, stable angina or congestive heart failure, then ask your physician for a referral.
