Singing River Healthcare Academy

Kim Hunt, MSN, RN

RN/LPN Educator

Kim Hunt, MSN, RN has served in a variety of roles across diverse practice settings during the course of a long career in nursing. Her roles include staff nurse, case manager, leader, and most recently Nurse Educator.

Mrs. Hunt received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and her Masters of Science in Nursing Education from the University of West Florida. She is currently pursuing her DNP with a subspecialty as a Nurse Educator. Kim is currently the RN/LPN Educator for Singing River Health System’s Healthcare Academy.

Kevin Minor, CST, AHI (AMT)

Instructor

Kevin has 18 years of medical experience, first serving for 17 years as a Certified Surgical Technologist and 14 years as an Operating Room Educator/Preceptor. Kevin has worked for Singing River Health System for a total of 17 years. He received an AA from MGCCC and is currently certified as an Allied Health Instructor.

Kevin is currently an Instructor for Singing River Health System’s Healthcare Academy where he facilitates the Surgical Tech Apprenticeship, Sterile Processing Apprenticeship, and the Medical Assisting Apprenticeship courses. While working in the Surgery Department at Pascagoula Hospital, Kevin served as team leader for the Neurosurgery service line and Lead Surgical Technologist.

Richr’D Moore, BSN, RN

Manger and Instructor

Richr’D Moore has been a part of Singing River Health System for 16 years. For 13 years, Richr’D worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Pascagoula Hospital taking care of critically ill patients including open heart surgery recovery.

He has held the position of Staff RN, Critical Care Educator, and Manager on the Ortho Surgical floor for Singing River Gulfport Campus. Richr’D first began educating as a staff RN working with nursing students in ICU during clinical rotations. After precepting new RN graduates, Richr’D left Intensive Care and became a full-time educator.

As Critical Care educator, Richr’D was responsible for coordinating annual continuing education, Critical Care Technology continuing education, reinitiating ICU new graduate education and orientation, and curriculum development for the Singing River Cardiovascular Open Heart Recovery Nurse Training Program. Richr’D is currently the Manager and Instructor for Singing River Health System’s Workforce Academy CNA apprenticeship.

Richr’D obtained his BSN from the University of Southern Mississippi and holds certifications as an instructor in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Kimi Smith

Workforce Development Systems Specialist

Kimi has 2.5 years experience in the hospital industry and five in the medical field. She served several years in admissions and career counseling for Virginia College. Kimi has served in multiple functions and roles within the hospitality industry, including managing the Players Club, Special Events, and Décor departments.

Kimi loves working for the Singing River Healthcare Academy and is passionate about development opportunities and helping others reach their full career potential.

Yolanda McBeath, BSN, MSN, RN

Adjunct Clinical Instructor

Yolanda McBeath is from Chicago, lllinois and is married with three children. She has worked as a nurse for over 30 years. She started her nursing career in 1992 as an LPN in acute and long-term care settings. She returned to school, graduated with an ADN degree in 2003 and began working as an RN.

She has worked in various healthcare settings including medical-surgical, emergency, and geriatrics. She received her BSN in 2014 and her MSN in nursing education in 2019. She then began working as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor. Nursing has been her passion and life’s work. Yolanda feels that it is truly an honor and a privilege to assist others on their journey in the fascinating healthcare profession.
