Biography
Dr. Joseph L. Cottone, Jr. is a board-certified Urologist who has been practicing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 2001. Dr. Cottone studied Biochemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School, New Orleans, in 1994. He completed a two-year surgical residency and three-year urologic residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he served as a Chief Resident. After residency, he practiced with The Urology Center in Slidell, Louisiana for two years before making his home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Dr. Cottone has published research on urinary incontinence and treatment of prostate cancer and has special interest in kidney stone disease and disorders of the bladder.
Dr. Cottone’s main practice is at Urology Associates in Gulfport where he counsels patients and performs procedures in his office including no scalpel vasectomies, cystoscopies, urodynamics, and prostate biopsies.
