Singing River Health System Named Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery

Singing River Health System was designated a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery (COERS) by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), becoming the first accredited Center of Excellence along the Gulf Coast – between Houston, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida.

The Center of Excellence accreditation distinguishes Singing River Health System as having met rigorous, internationally recognized standards in providing the safest, highest quality of care and surgical capabilities while establishing and maintaining a culture of excellence.

Surgeons and team members at Singing River Health System use the most advanced technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery, to improve patient outcomes, including reducing the risk of complications and pain post-operation using robotic surgery techniques.

Singing River’s Surgeons of Excellence

Robotic-Assisted Surgery Benefits

  • Less pain
  • Faster recoveries
  • Smaller incisions
  • Reduced scarring
  • Lower risk of complications and infection
  • The surgeon has clear 3D visualization of the surgical field
  • Greater range of motion and control of medical devices than in traditional laparoscopic surgery

The most common robotic-assisted procedures are joint replacements, hernia repairs, single-site hysterectomies, spine, and bariatric weight-loss surgeries. Robotic surgery can also help treat cancers such as colon, liver, lung, pancreatic, prostate, and women’s cancers.

Team members from all across Singing River Health System worked extremely hard to earn this prestigious designation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery, which affirms our commitment to provide access to the most advanced technologies, expert physicians, and compassionate quality care.
