What Patient and Family Advisors do at Singing River

Patient and Family Advisors work alongside healthcare leaders and staff to help improve care at Singing River. This may include:

  • Reviewing patient instructions
  • Sharing feedback on safety and communication
  • Testing digital tools
  • Advising on facilities and wayfinding
  • Joining improvement teams
  • Participating in the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)

If you have questions about PFAC, please call (228) 809-5060 during weekday business hours.

Who Should Apply

We welcome people with a range of healthcare and community experiences. You do not need medical knowledge or previous committee experience. We provide orientation, training, and support. We are especially interested in building a group that reflects the communities, backgrounds, ages, abilities, languages, and care experiences of the people we serve.

Selection

After you submit the interest form, our team will review it and contact selected applicants for a conversation about the role. Some applicants may be invited to PFAC, while others may be matched with a committee, focus group, project, or online review opportunity. Selected advisors complete the volunteer and confidentiality requirements for their role.
