Neurology Support Groups

Support groups are offered for several areas at the Neuroscience Center in Ocean Springs.

Each group meets in the following location:

Aphasia Communication and Support Group

Every third Thursday of the month | 4:00pm – 5:00pm
This group is for people who have been diagnosed with aphasia, dysfluency (stuttering) or exhibit difficulties with processing skills required for communication. People who wish to attend are encouraged to bring any additional communication device they may use (communication board, speech generating device, etc.). The group is led by a speech language pathologist who treats adults with acquired communication impairments following a neurological disorder or diagnosis.

Movement Disorder Exercise Group

Every fourth Tuesday of the month | 4:00pm – 5:00pm
This group is designed to provide a full body workout for people of all levels of physical ability. Classes will focus on stretching, strengthening, cardiovascular and coordination exercises of both the upper and lower body in a group setting. This is a fun and interactive class aimed at improving overall fitness and health.

Online Stroke Support Group

Singing River provides award-winning Stroke support and care, including access to our online Stroke Support Group on Facebook, where we share educational resources, information on upcoming events, questions and answers from other stroke survivors and their caregivers and more!
