Angiography

Angiography is a minimally invasive medical imaging technique used to look at the inside of blood vessels and organs, particularly the heart and lungs.

About Angiography

Angiography is performed using:

  • X-rays with catheters
  • Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
CT Angiography by the GE Discovery CT750 HD used to diagnose pulmonary embolism

During CT Angiography, an iodine-rich contrast material (dye) is usually injected into a small catheter and placed in the vein of your arm. We then perform a CT scan while the contrast dye flows through the blood vessels and various organs of the body.

After scanning, the images are processed using a special computer and reviewed in different planes and projections by the radiologist.
