Heart Attack & Stroke Care

Pascagoula Hospital has received a American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

Stroke is the number five cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S. Consistent adherence to stroke guidelines leads to more lives saved, faster recovery, and reduced disability so that the patients of Jackson County can experience longer, healthier lives.

Pascagoula Hospital also received the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award for meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy.

The hospital also received the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award. This award aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who may be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
